In a significant advancement for digital construction workflows, RIB and Infrakit have introduced a direct software integration between RIB Civil and the Infrakit platform. This collaboration empowers users to streamline infrastructure projects by facilitating seamless data exchange between planning, execution, and billing phases.
With the newly integrated Infrakit button in RIB Civil, users can now directly upload and download project-related data—such as IFC models, LandXML files, point clouds, and PDF plans—between the two platforms. This eliminates the need for external data transfer methods, ensuring a secure and efficient workflow. Additionally, the RIB and Infrakit integration allows for the creation of structured folders tailored to specific process steps, enhancing organization and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
The Infrakit cloud platform provides a comprehensive overview of construction sites, incorporating models, high-resolution orthophotos, and site forms on a centralized map. Its open architecture supports connections to surveying equipment and machine control systems from all major manufacturers in the German and European markets. Through dedicated apps for tablets and smartphones, stakeholders—including clients, planning offices, and construction companies—can access up-to-date site information, fostering real-time collaboration across projects.
“The RIB and Infrakit integration marks a pivotal step towards fully digitalized construction processes,” said Andreas Dieterle, Sales Director for Civil and Infrastructure Construction at RIB. “By enabling direct data exchange between RIB Civil and Infrakit, we lay the foundation for continuous, media-break-free workflows that enhance communication and project efficiency.”
Stefan Argiriu, Managing Director of Infrakit Deutschland GmbH, added, “The seamless connection between RIB Civil and Infrakit supports digital construction management across all project phases. Real-time data integration ensures that valuable on-site information from all project participants is incorporated without disruption, aligning with the recommendations of the Federal Association for Software and Digitalization in Construction (BVBS) for interconnected, real-time digital workflows.”
